(WVUE) -

Paul Mainieri's Tigers jumped out to an early 5-0 lead over Louisiana Tech and never looked back en route to a 6-3 victory Wednesday night to improve their record to 10-2.

The sixth-ranked team in the nation got 3.2 innings from starter Alden Cartwright before trouble in the fourth inning chased him out of the game, but not before being charged with two earned runs. Parker Bugg got the Tigers out of the inning and Austin Bain was eventually credited with the win for his three innings pitched. Junior Jake Fraley was the only LSU batter with multiple hits, going 2-for-3 and crossing home plate twice.

LSU was scheduled to be back in action Wednesday against McNeese State but that game has been postponed to April 12. Ball State comes to town Friday night to start a weekend series.
