(WVUE) -

Tulane looked to be on the ropes against 16th-ranked UL-Lafayette when the Cajuns tied the game in the top of the eighth on a throwing error by Wave catcher Jake Rogers but his teammates brought three runs home in the bottom of the frame to secure the win, 5-3.

Home runs by Jeremy Montalbano and Lex Kaplan brought in two runs each while Ross Massey and Trevor Simms combined to stifle the Cajuns' bats.

David Pierce's squad will go across town Wednesday night to face a UNO team off to a surprising 10-2 start under first year head coach Blake Dean. First pitch is set for 6:30 PM.
