New non-stop flights from New Orleans Armstrong International Airport

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Allegiant Air started offering seasonal non-stop flights to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Its the eighth city Allegiant now flies to non-stop from New Orleans.
The addition means Armstrong International now has non-stop service to 54 cities.

"The direct flight to Tulsa makes it easier for people traveling to New Orleans," said New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu. "It will enhance tourism and economic opportunities between our cities." 

A spokesperson for Armstrong International says the new Tulsa route will bring in an estimated 15,000 new visitors to the city year.

"We are always looking to expand service to and from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport," said New Orleans Aviation Board Chairwoman, Cheryl Teamer. "We are delighted to see Allegiant launch this new flight to Tulsa." 

Allegiant is a Las Vegas based, low-cost carrier which began operating at Armstrong International in February 2015.

Allegiant says its selling tickets now and plans to begin the Tulsa flights starting May 26 and run through mid-October.
