NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Ten days after an inmate from the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office simply walked away from a security line at Municipal Court, 38 year old Lionel C. Trumble is back behind bars.

The U.S. Marshals Task Force helped capture Trumble about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at a Milan Street residence. At the time he was apprehended, Trumble still had the leg shackles on his ankles.

Trumble had been charged with multiple counts of possession of stolen property.  He walked away from a Municipal Court security line on Feb. 29.  Following the incident, the OPSO immediately notified the U.S. Marshals Task Force and other law enforcement agencies who actively searched for the missing inmate

The deputy who was charged with overseeing Trumble and other inmates at Municipal Court has been suspended pending an investigation.   The Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office says an initial investigation determined the deputy did not follow proper OPSO security procedures regarding the movement of inmates. In addition, an administrative review is now underway. The OPSO will not release the name of the deputy until that review is completed.

Trumble will be rebooked at the Orleans Justice Center on charges of Simple Escape and Criminal Damage to Property.

Authorities also arrested Sidney Diggs who faces a charge of harboring a fugitive.
