New Orleans police are searching for a man who is wanted for a burglary and wanted in connection with an attempted burglary, which both occurred in the Bywater neighborhood. Both incidents took place Sunday in the 2700 block of Burgundy Street.

Police say that a woman received a call from her alarm company at 4:03 p.m. When she came back home around 4:10 p.m., her neighbor told her that an unknown black man, who was wearing a red t-shirt, black hat and blue jeans was in her backyard. The neighbor said that she confronted the man who ran from the yard and fled in a silver pickup truck. He drove down Burgundy Street towards Elysian Fields Avenue, then in an unknown direction.

Responding officers found the victim's back door glass busted and glass inside her home. The victim checked for any missing items or anything out of the ordinary and told police nothing was gone and that the broken glass was the only thing out of place.

According to police, officers responded to a burglary, located in the same block around 4:05 p.m. The victim in that incident told police that he left his home two hours earlier and a neighbor called him and said that somebody broke into his house. The victim came back home and found his fence posts and back door kicked in, in addition to meats missing from his refrigerator.

Nearby surveillance cameras captured images of the man, believed to be responsible for the incidents. He reportedly left the scene in a stolen silver Nissan Frontier pickup with a Louisiana license plate reading X208544.
