NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The Pelicans started their road trip the same way they finished their home stand finale, with an early, double-digit deficit. Wednesday night in Charlotte, they could not mount a comeback like they did against the Kings and fell by a final score of 122-113.

Jrue Holiday and Anthony Davis combined for 78 points and Davis notched his seventh game since the 2013-14 season with 40+ points and 10+ rebounds, tying him for the most in the NBA with Kevin Durant during that stretch. Meanwhile, Holiday's 38 points sets a new career high. Kemba Walker was one of seven Hornets with double digit points, leading the way with 35.

The Pelicans' five game road trip continues Friday in Memphis at 7 PM.
