NOPD investigates double shooting in Central City

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Two people were shot Thursday in Central City.

At about 6:43 p.m., police received a call from a woman who said she and a man had been shot by an unknown subject while they were standing on the corner of Third and Saratoga streets. The shooter fled the scene in the direction of Daneel Street. No description was available.

The male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was taken to the hospital via EMS in critical condition. The female victim sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the knee and was also transported via EMS.
