NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Quarterback Luke McCown visited the Colts Thursday afternoon according to a report by ESPN, but he didn't stay long. Later that day, he decided to re-sign with the Saints according to a report by Nola.com/The Times-Picayune.

Katherine Terrell says McCown re-upped with the Saints for two years, keeping him under contract in New Orleans through the 2017 season. McCown's contract is worth $3 million with a $500,000 signing bonus, according to a source.

The former Louisiana Tech Bulldog has backed up Drew Brees for three seasons. McCown filled in for an injured Brees in Week 3 of 2015 against the Panthers and completed 31 of 38 passes for 310 yards. The Saints lost that contest 27-22.

The Saints have three quarterbacks under contract on the roster: Brees, McCown, and Garrett Grayson.
