Food Bank of Covington to reopen Monday

COVINGTON, LA (WVUE) -

The Food Bank of Covington will reopen Monday, March 14 to serve those in need in St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Washington Parishes.

According to a representative with The Food Bank of Covington, their building did not take any damage from the now receding flood water in Covington. They are set to reopen at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 14 to serve victims of the flood from surrounding parishes.

The charitable organization is in need of non-perishable food donations. At the top of their wish list is boxed cereal. Can openers, toiletries, diapers and monetary donations are also requested.

Anyone who wants to donate can stop by during regular business hours or contact the Development Director at 985-893-3003 Ext. 105 or by email at JAndrepont@CovingtonFoodBank.org.

Anyone interested in volunteering can contact the volunteer coordinator starting Monday at 985-893-3003 Ext. 101.
