NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Behind a strong pitching performance by Emerson Gibbs, and three home runs by Wave hitters, Tulane beat Furman 8-0 to sweep the weekend series.

Gibbs, a Jesuit alum, went nine scoreless innings on the mound giving up only two hits.

Tulane's scoring came via the long ball this afternoon as Grant Witherspoon, Hunter Hope, and Matt Braud all had solo shots for the Wave.

Tulane's record improves to 11-6 on the season. They visit Nicholls State on Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
