NOPD searches for man accused in New Orleans East home burglary

New Orleans Police want to find a a man accused of burglarizing a New Orleans East home. 

Investigators are looking for Ricardo McKendall, 18, for the burglary which took place in the 8000 block of Redfish Street, on December 12, 2015. 

Police say that shortly after 3:00 p.m. that day, officers responded to a call about a residential burglary in progress. 

When they arrived, the victim told police that she had left the residence locked and secured earlier that day.

The victim told police she returned home to find her back door open and several items missing from inside of her residence.

She told investigators that a friend told her that two unknown people had broken into her residence and took off in a newer model black Nissan Altima. 

In an unrelated incident, on December 13, 2015, the Kenner Police Department arrested Ricardo McKendall in Jefferson Parish for being in possession of a stolen vehicle. 

Some of the items found in the car matched items reported stolen from the Redfish Street burglary.

Police put out an arrest warrant for McKendall for residential burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
