NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Tulane Athletic Director Athletic Troy Dannen announced today that head men’s basketball coach Ed Conroy has been relieved of his duties. Conroy's contract was set to expire in 2017.

News of his firing leaked Friday afternoon during their game with Houston. A game the Tulane Green Wave won, which made the postgame presser very awkward.

"I told them. I said it's not about me. It's about you guys and what you've worked so hard for. This is March. This is what we all dream about. Go out there. This is your time. We said it in every single timeout tonight. Don't worry about the other stuff because they're not thinking about you," said Conroy this past Friday.

This past season under Conroy, the Green Wave posted a 12-22 overall record, including a mark of 3-15 in league games, and a 10th-place finish in The American.  In six seasons, he compiled an overall record of 92-103.
