New Orleans Police seek teen for 2015 New Orleans East murder

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans Police are searching for a teenager who is wanted for the shooting death of another teen in New Orleans East. The incident occurred July 16, 2015 in the 6700 block of Tara Lane. The suspect has been identified as 16-year-old Miqueghele Brown. 

Police say responding officers found the victim, later identified as 17-year-old Ortez Williams, Jr., lying on the sidewalk, shot multiple times. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. 

During their investigation, detectives were able to identify Brown as the suspect. Investigators learned that Brown is known to be in New Orleans East, often. 

According to police, The Louisiana State Children's code gives law enforcement the permission to identify juveniles who are wanted for a felony-grade delinquent act.
