KENNER, LA (WVUE) -

Two people accused of retrieving a package mailed with five pounds of marijuana inside get picked up by police officers.

According to our partners at Nola.com|The Times-Picayue, investigators say they watched Christopher Broussard take the package off of the porch of a home on Normandy Drive. They allowed the package to be delivered, after suspecting it might contain drugs. They say Broussard left the home, after putting the package in his vehicle.

Investigators arrested Broussard and Sheena Lopez after stopping the vehicle on Williams Boulevard. They say Lopez was a passenger in the vehicle.

Broussard was booked with possession of 2.5 to 60 pounds of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, driving on an expired license and three traffic attachments.

Lopez was booked with possession of drug paraphernalia, probation violation, three counts of being a fugitive from another jurisdiction and four traffic attachments.
