NOPD: 4 injured in 2 separate shootings

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans police are investigating two separate shootings that injured four people Monday.

The first occurred in the St. Roch neighborhood, where three men were shot around 5:50 p.m. in the 1800 block of Almonaster Blvd. Police say the victims, identified as black men, ages 39, 36 and 25, were walking out of a store when they heard gunshots and began to run. One of the men was struck in the foot while another was hit in the leg. Both were brought to the hospital via EMS. The third victim suffered a graze wound to the shoulder and was rushed to the hospital via private conveyance. Their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening, according to police.

Detectives believe that two suspects fled in a dark-colored SUV, possible a Nissan Rogue.

The second shooting occurred at about 8 p.m. in New Orleans East, where police said a man was shot in the chest in the 7000 block of Lawrence Drive and then ran to his home in the 8500 block of Huntington Drive. He was taken to the hospital by EMS. His condition is unknown
