The NOPD is asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a man who robbed a Central City restaurant at gunpoint on Monday.

The incident occurred at about 4 p.m. at the Taco Bell in the 2800 block of South Claiborne Avenue.

According to the cashier, the suspect entered the restaurant armed with a gun and demanded money from the register. Employees told police they opened the register drawer and the suspect removed an unknown amount of money. He then fled on foot southbound on Washington Avenue toward Willow Street.

The suspect was captured on the restaurant’s surveillance video and is described as a black male, 5'8" tall with a medium build. He was wearing a yellow short-sleeve polo shirt, black pants, black shoes, and a black baseball cap with an unknown design on the front. Witnesses told police the man had his face covered in a black and white mask, and only his eyes could be seen.
