NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans police are searching for a woman wanted in connection with a theft at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, located in the 900 block of Canal Street.

Police say that on Feb. 28 around 8:30 a.m., the male victim, who was staying at the hotel, told police that he brought an unknown black female to his room, the day before. The man told police he put his cell phone and wallet containing his debit and credit cards, inside the room's safe.

The man told investigators that at one point he left the woman alone inside the room. When he returned, the woman said that she wanted to leave. After escorting her out, he returned to the room and noticed his belongings missing from the safe.

According to police, ATM surveillance cameras in New Orleans captured footage of the woman trying to use the stolen cards.

If you have any information that could help police with this case, you are asked to call Eighth District Detectives at (504) 658-6080 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
