METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) -

The 400 block of Dorrington Boulevard in Old Metairie is quiet. A resident, who FOX 8 will not identify, said she never thought she’d become a victim.

“They had circled the house for about an hour, waiting for my car to leave,” she said.

Just minutes after she pulled out of her driveway on March 7, two men in a gray Ford F-150 backed in.

“They came around to the back of the house, and broke the door to my porch, the glass. They reached inside and unlocked the house,” the victim said.

The housekeeper was inside at the time, and the victim’s dog began to bark. She believes the men became scared and took off. She said she doesn’t think they took anything, simply because they were forced to leave so fast.

“It just scared all of us,” she said.

Just two days after that break-in, the Sheriff’s Office said the same men went to the 1000 block of Aurora Boulevard in Metairie. We spoke to that victim off camera, and she said the robbers broke in and ransacked every room. She said they took their time, spending nearly an hour inside. They made off with thousands of dollars in jewelry and at least 15 guns. It happened in the middle of the day, just after noon.

When they finished in that neighborhood, deputies said the men broke into a home in the 1400 block of Beverly Garden Drive, again ransacking the house and stealing several items.

Investigators hope surveillance images will help them crack the case. Anyone with information is asked to call the JPSO crime hotline at (504) 366-3784.
