A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for the North Shore and Gulf Coast until 8 p.m. this evening. The biggest threat will be very large and damaging hail.
The storms should diminish overnight with another round or two of storms expected on Friday. The severe threat will be lower with the main concern being locally heavy downpours.
We will have to continue to monitor the North Shore because of the recent heavy rains and flooding there.
Indications are that some rain will linger into early Saturday. A cold front will sweep across the area by midday bringing cooler and drier weather. Temperatures will remain in the 60s throughout the day.
Sunday will start with quite a chill with temperatures in the 40s. With bright sunshine during the day highs will struggle into the 60s.
Lots of sun and pleasant Monday through Wednesday. The next storm chance appears to be next Thursday.
