Police to announce arrest of former Slidell High teacher

SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) -

Slidell Police Chief Randy Smith has called a news conference for Friday at 11 a.m. to announce the arrest of a "former Slidell High School teacher," according to a news release.

The Police Department said no details would be made available before then, but the following letter was posted to the school's website:

"Dear Parents and Caregivers: This letter is to inform you about a situation involving the arrest of a teacher who worked at Slidell High School. Administrators learned of allegations involving inappropriate behavior and immediately contacted the Slidell Police Department. This person is no longer an employee of the St. Tammany Parish Public School System. The School System is cooperating with the Slidell Police Department as their investigation continues. We are dedicated to our efforts to maintain a safe, secure and productive learning environment at Slidell High School. lf you have any questions or concerns about this situation, please contact me at school at 643-2992. Thank you for your support of our students and our school. William C. Percy Principal"
