SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) -

This morning victims of the recent floods will get the chance to visit a FEMA disaster recovery center in Slidell and apply for assistance.

Recent floods damaged many homes and businesses throughout the St. Tammany Parish, which caused families to be displaced and brought on unexpected expenses.

The small business administration and other agencies will also be here at the disaster recovery center to provide assistance.

The uninsured and under insured are eligible for small business disaster loans and grants. As of this past Thursday millions of dollars in federal aid were handed out, with more to follow.

The relief center is located at the Towers administration building at 520 Old Spanish Trail in Slidell.

The disaster relief center will be opened today through Saturday from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

A second disaster relief center will open on the western side of the parish during the week.
