NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating the armed robbery of a store on St. Andrew Street on March 17.

Police say a man entered the store around 5:30 p.m. and pulled a gun. The female clerk told police she was working when the man approached the counter with the gun. She said he put a scarf over his face and jumped over the counter and demanded cash from the drawer. The attacker took the money, then led the clerk to the back of the business where she unlocked the back door and he fled.

Surveillance cameras captured pictures of the man. He was described as wearing a black short sleeve shirt and blue jeans with a black hat.

The Sixth District investigative unit is working the case. Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call (504)658-6060 or Crimestoppers at (504)822-1111.
