ALGIERS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans police have arrested a man who they say fired his gun at a car in Algiers.

It happened Sunday at MacArthur and Holiday streets about 2:20 p.m. Police said suspect Robert Clark and the victim knew each other through family connections. During a stop at a red light, police said the two got into a verbal fight. That's when they said Clark pulled out a gun, pointed it at the victim and threatened to shoot him.

Police said the victim backed up, striking Clark's motorcycle, and then took off.

According to investigators, Clark went after the vehicle on foot, firing shots at it. They say Clark hit the vehicle four times.

Clark left the scene and later returned to the area claiming to be the owner of the motorcycle.

The victim contacted police about the incident and positively identified Clark as the person who shot at him. Clark tested positive in a preliminary gunshot residue test, and was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of firearm by felon, and illegal use of weapons.
