NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Police arrested 17-year-old Ernest Thomas and 18-year-old Jonathan Davis in connection with a March 10 shooting in Central City.

According to an NOPD press release, it happened near the intersection of South Saratoga and Third streets at about 6:45 p.m. Police say they received a call from a female who said she and a male had been shot by an unknown person while standing at that corner.

After shooting, the subject fled the scene in the direction of Daneel Street. The male victim was shot in the head. He was taken to the hospital in unknown condition. The female victim had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the knee and was also hospitalized.

Detectives say surveillance video footage from a nearby bar showed three individuals walking in front of the business and, later, two of the three subjects walking to the scene of the shooting. The detectives were able to identify the two subjects as Thomas and Davis.

Both Thomas and Davis were later arrested.

They face two counts of attempted second-degree murder if convicted.
