HOUMA, LA (WVUE) -

Houma police arrested a man accused of kicking down a motel door and robbing one of the residents at gunpoint.

Jacob Luke, 27, of Gray, is charged with armed robbery.

On Dec. 17, 2015 shortly before 1 a.m., officers were called to the Sugar Bowl Motel to investigate a disturbance involving a gun.

Officer say Luke approached his victim at the hotel and demanded money. When the victim refused, Luke left the area. He returned a short time later armed with a gun, according to police.

Luke allegedly kicked open the motel room door and demanded money again. He was able to get away with an undetermined amount of cash.

Detectives were unable to locate Luke, but learned on March 17 that he was incarcerated.

After he was charged, Luke remained in jail where he was booked.
