NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Several state and local colleges that have students abroad say their students have been contacted and everyone is safe.

LSU tweeted early Tuesday morning that they have been in touch with their students. It is unclear how many were in the areas affected by the attacks.

Tulane University said it does not have any students in Brussels, but released this statement.

“Tulane University stands in solidarity with the people of Belgium as they mourn those lost in today's terrorist attacks."
Loyola University also does not have any students studying aboard in Belgium.

They do have 50 students total studying abroad in parts of Europe.  Whenever something like this happens, they reach out to all of the students studying aboard and make sure they are okay. They have confirmed that all students are safe and accounted for.

FOX 8 has reached out to other colleges in the area for similar updates.
