HOUMA, LA (WVUE) -

Detectives said surveillance video helped them track down the man accused of tossing a chunk of concrete through the front door of a Houma pawn shop.

The Houma Police Department responded to an alarm at Fred's Pawn just before 2 a.m. Friday and found shattered glass at the East Tunnel Boulevard business. Investigators said someone threw a large piece of concrete through the door, but was scared off by the alarm.

Detectives said surveillance footage from surrounding businesses helped them identify Jody J. Neal of Montegut as their suspect. He was later stopped by Terrebonne Parish deputies for an unrelated incident.

Police booked the 28-year-old with attempted simple burglary.
