NOPD investigating two Tuesday night carjackings

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

New Orleans police are investigating two Tuesday night carjackings.

The incident occurred at 6 49 p.m.in the 4500 block of Ray Avenue.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, was sitting inside his vehicle when an armed suspect, described as a black male, approached and demanded cash and the car.

The victim complied and the suspect fled in the victim’s car with $1,000 in cash.

The second incident occurred at 7:33 p.m. in the 1600 block of General Ogden Street.

The victim, a 42-year-old man, was leaving his brother’s residence in his car when he was approached by a suspect, described as a black male, armed with a gun.

The suspect demanded the man move over into the passenger seat while he got in the driver’s seat.

That suspect, and another suspect, for which no description was given, drove the victim around in the area then put him out of the vehicle.
