NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints are working on a four-year contract extension according to a report by ESPN. The quarterback has one year left on his current deal with a $30 million salary cap hit.

If Brees signs this extension, he'll be locked into the Saints until 2020. Earlier today Sean Payton agreed to a five-year extension keeping him with the black and gold until 2020 also.

Brees said this past training camp he could play until he's 45-years old. If he agrees to this new deal, the franchise quarterback will be 41 in 2020.
