Workout Wednesday: Dryades YMCA, Upper Body and Shoulders

Napoleon Benoit of the Dryades YMCA teaches Kristi Coleman how to tackle one of the most intimidating pieces of equipment in the gym. 

Chin up assists

- Select a comfortable grip on the upper handle bars
- Place both feet on the pad and straighten body
- Pull body up using handle bars keeping elbows close to body

The more weight you add, the easier it becomes to lift body. The less weight, the harder it becomes. 

Dip assists

- Select a comfortable grip on the lower handle bars
- Place both feet on the pad and straighten body
- Push body down using handle bars to pull body back up keeping elbows nice and tight

The more weight you add, the easier it becomes to lift body. The less weight, the harder it becomes. Both exercises target the upper body. 

Push Up Row

- Using weights, lay in a push-up position 
- Perform a push-up and lift weights on each arm

This exercise focuses on shoulders and stabilization in the core.
