RACELAND, LA (WVUE) -

Sheriff Craig Webre reported Wednesday that a body found in Thibodaux was identified as 23-year-old Chad Turner of Raceland.

Webre said Turner had been missing since Sunday. No further details were available, and the manner of death is still under investigation.

Investigators learned that Turner was last seen around 9 p.m. leaving a Thibodaux home to go to Club Hot Spot at 1303 St. Charles Street in Thibodaux. He had not been seen or heard from since.

Turner's vehicle was found abandoned along LA Highway 308 in Assumption Parish on Tuesday. Deputies with the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office conducted a search of the area near the vehicle but did not locate Turner.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division at (985) 532-4326, or dial 9-1-1.
