ST. CHARLES PARISH, LA (WVUE) -

Some St. Charles Parish neighbors may soon notice smoke rising from their roof vents, yards and ditches.

The Department of Public Works and Wastewater said crews will begin smoke tests to check for breaks in wastewater lines, starting March 28. The work will focus on Davis Drive in Luling, from the 300 block of Davis to the train tracks closest to River Road.

Officials say neighbors could also see smoke inside their homes, if there are broken pipes or drains that haven't been recently used.

The testing is scheduled to end April 8.
