NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans police are searching for two men wanted for stealing a pickup truck near City Park. The incident occurred Friday around 3:50 a.m. in the 100 block of Sherwood Forest Drive.

Police say that officers responded to a call of a vehicle theft and learned that the owner parked his blue 2005 Ford F-250 pickup with a Louisiana license plate bearing #B605833 in front of his home the night before at 9 p.m. He told police that at 7 a.m. Friday, he discovered that his truck was missing. While checking the surveillance footage, the victim noticed that two men walked up to his truck around 3:50 a.m. It is believed that the two suspects drove by the truck earlier in a light-colored four-door sedan, possibly a Chevrolet Impala, shortly before walking up to the truck.

The surveillance footage shows one of the men getting inside the truck through the drivers-side door and driving away towards City Park Avenue while the other man ran in the same direction.

If you have any information that could help police with this case, you are asked to call the NOPD Third District Detective Unit at 504-658-6030 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
