CBD filming will close St. Charles, affect streetcar service

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

A filming notice was issued Monday to residents and commuters in the Central Business District.

On Tuesday, March 29, and Thursday, March 31, a production company will be filming on St. Charles Avenue between Girod and Julia streets. The filming will cause intermittent traffic delays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. St. Charles Avenue will be closed to traffic from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday. 

RTA streetcar service in the Central Business District will be replaced by bus service along St. Charles Avenue at Howard Avenue on Tuesday and Thursday.

Filming will involve simulated explosions and smoke in the 700 block of St. Charles Avenue NOFD and law enforcement officers will be on site to ensure public safety and help facilitate the work.
