NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

People who say they can't use some bus stops in New Orleans hope a lawsuit will force change.

According to our partners at Nola.com|The Times-Picayune, three people sued the city, New Orleans Regional Transit Authority and RTA's private manager
Monday. The plaintiffs claim the bus system is inaccessible to persons with mobility-related disabilities.

The plaintiffs recently received a Regional Transit Authority internal review of bus stops. The review shows roughly 94 percent of all bus stops in New Orleans are not compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act.

"These are safety issues for folks who can use all the help they can get," said plaintiffs' attorney Andrew Bizer.

Our partners at Nola.com|The Times-Picayune left messages with the city, RTA and RTA's private manager. None has replied to comment on the lawsuit.
