NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

New Orleans police detectives are working to track down a 25-year-old mother who is wanted for kidnapping her two small children.  The father of the two children, ages 2 and 3 years old, called police Monday night to report that his estranged girlfriend, Jasmine Jackson, had taken the children from his home.  Officers arrived at his home in the 3100 block of Kent Drive and was told by the father that he was granted sole custody of the children.  Police say he was able to support his claim by providing documentation received from the Orleans Parish Juvenile Court.

During the course of the investigation, officers learned that Jackson had visited with the children earlier at their father’s residence, and while in the care of another relative, she took the children and fled the scene in an unknown direction. When contacted by phone, Jackson told police she was out of town, and was not coming back.

Prior to this event, the father says he's never had any problems with regards to custody issues and says the children's mother was never a threat to herself or the children.  Jackson is described by detectives as a black female, about 5’5” tall, weighing 150 pounds..

The Fourth District investigative unit is in charge of the on-going investigation and can be reached at 504-658-6040.
