NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Mike Dunleavy, Sr. has been a head coach in the NBA for four teams, but has no college coaching experience. That shouldn't be a problem at a school and a city that he loves. In 2012 a group that included Dunleavy, unsuccessfully tried to buy the then New Orleans Hornets.

"The next important thing for me was it has to be a city that I would enjoy living in for the next ten-plus years," said Dunleavy. "New Orleans, I was checking off these boxes, and the Tulane name came up. I'm saying I already know I like New Orleans. I was already ready to make a commitment here, I have family here. The bottom-line is it's a pro-city, has pro everything as far as sports is concerned. It's got a great fan base. Between Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, Florida, and surrounding states, I looked at it like there was no reason to win in a big way here."

The last time Tulane made the NCAA Tournament was way back in 1995, when they lost to SEC-power Kentucky.

Today's work was much lighter between the Saints and Chargers was much lighter. They wore no pads only shells and helmets, and they only practiced two hours instead of two and a half like Thursday. While they certainly weren't perfect, overall the Saints had much better execution today than Thursday.  "I thought overall it was a little bit crisper today than yesterday.
