NOPD investigating a shooting, aggravated burglary

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

New Orleans police are investigating two separate violent overnight incidents, according to reports.

The first incident occurred around 1:54 a.m. in the 6000 block of Downman Road.

The victim, a 27-year-old man, told police he met the two suspects, described as black males, who came to his location.

Once at the location one of the suspects struck the victim in the head and face with a gun and demanded money.

The victim complied and the perpetrators fled. 

The second incident occurred around 1:58 a.m. at the intersection of South Hennessy and D'Hemecourt Streets.

The victim, a 46-year-old man, was exiting his vehicle in the 4300 block of  Street when a truck pulled up near him.

There were three suspects, all described as black males wearing dark clothing. The truck is described as a gray pick-up truck.

At that time, a suspect exited the truck and demanded the victim's property and then shot him in the stomach.

He was taken to a nearby hospital by EMS.

The investigation is open and ongoing Investigators have to further information at this time.
