NOPD investigating three Thursday armed robberies

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating three Thursday armed robberies.

The first incident occurred at 5:55 a.m. in the 3400 block of Piety Street.

The victim, a 37-year-old man, taxi driver picked up a fare, described as black male, 65-years-old 6-feet tall, in the 300 Bourbon Street.

When they reached the location on Piety, the subject implied he had a weapon and demanded money.

The victim complied and the perpetrator fled. 

The second incident occurred at 7:37 p.m. in the 1200 block of Montegut Street.

Two victims, men ages 58 and 64.

The suspect went inside the location armed with a gun and demanded the victims’ belongings.

The victims complied and the subject fled.

The third incident occurred at 9:41 p.m. in the 4000 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

The victim, a 36-year-old man, was getting money out of an ATM machine at the location when he saw a suspect, described as a black male, armed gun, crouched down along side of his vehicle.

The victim pressed on the gas and fled the location leaving his ATM card and $20.00.
