Covington man arrested after stabbing his brother over video game

COVINGTON, LA (WVUE) -

An argument over a video game between two brothers led to a stabbing in Covington Friday night.

The stabbing occurred outside the Covington Quick Stop on North Columbia Street. According to the Covington Police Department, the two brothers were arguing over a video game when the younger brother, 28-year-old Genard Washington, stabbed his brother Brandon five times.

Brandon was rushed to the St. Tammany Parish Hospital emergency room and underwent emergency surgery. He is listed in critical, but stable condition.

Genard turned himself in to police the next day.
