Man wanted for Algiers aggravated assault

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police are asking for the public's help in finding a man wanted for aggravated assault.

They are looking for Darrick Byes, 22.

Police said he lives with his girlfriend, the alleged victim, at a home in the 100 block of Pinewood Drive. The woman said when she arrived home around 2:30pm Sunday, she found their two children alone in the residence. She told police Byes should have been home to supervise the children.

Police said the victim then went to another location where she and Byes got into an argument. The victim said Byes pulled out a handgun and threatened her life.

Police said Byes fled the scene in a black Alero, with license plate number YTZ238.

Byes was described as a black male, 5'10" tall, weighing 160 lbs. wearing a blue and white long-sleeve polo shirt, a long black tie with blue jeans and a soldier rag hanging out of his back pocket.
