Man wanted for trying to break into Marigny home

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police are searching for a man wanted for trying to break into a house in the Marigny. The incident occurred Tuesday Mar 29 at 11:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of North Rampart Street.

Police say that detectives reviewed surveillance footage which showed a black man setting a ladder against the wall of a home. Once he climbed up the ladder the man tries to open one of the windows to the house by pushing up on the frame. After the man realized he could not open the window, he climbed down the ladder and knocked on the front door of the home. The footage showed the man leaving the area on North Rampart, heading towards Elysian Fields.

The suspect is described as a black male with a medium build and short hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a baseball cap with a logo on the front, a light-colored shirt, jeans and light-colored tennis shoes. According to police, investigators believe the man is responsible for several area burglaries.
