BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) -

A week after falling to Tulane midweek, LSU got back on track Tuesday night against Southern with an 11-1 victory at Alex Box Stadium.

Paul Mainieri continues to experiment with a plethora of pitchers, using eight against the Jaguars. On offense, Antoine Duplantis and Chris Reid led the way with 2-for-3 efforts while Beau Jordan and Michael Papierski had two runs batted in apiece.

The highlight of the night came before the game started as former Southern football player Devon Gales, who suffered a spinal injury in the fall, threw out the ceremonial first pitch in front of the 10,000-plus fans in attendance.
