Golf GPS band recalled

(WVUE) - The maker of a GPS wristband for golfers recalls the GolfBuddy BB5 because of a burn hazard.

About 3,000 bands were sold for $250 online and at stores nationwide, including PGA Tour Superstore and The Golfer's Warehouse, between April 2015 and January 2016.

The band is a wearable GPS unit that's preloaded with golf course information, measures shot distance and works as a pedometer.

The U.S. Product Safety Commission says the product's charging ports can produce an electrical charge, burning exposed skin.

GolfBuddy says customers should immediately stop using their device and update the its firmwear through the company's website.
