SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) - A Slidell-area man accused of shooting another man surrenders to police.
Police say Marcus Sylvester, 26, faces attempted murder charges.
Police say Sylvester shot a 21-year-old Slidell man after getting into a fight with a third man Wednesday evening in between the 2220 and 2300 block of Bluebird Street.
Earlier in the evening, police say Sylvester and a friend of the victim got into an argument after Sylvester made obscene comments to the friend's girlfriend.
Police say Sylvester then went home and got a gun.
The couple was driving back through the neighborhood – with the victim now in the backseat of the vehicle – when they saw Sylvester and stopped the car.
Police say the victim got out of the vehicle and was immediately shot once by Sylvester. The bullet traveled through his arm and into his torso.
His wounds are not believed to be life-threatening.
Sylvester has been booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail for one count of attempted second-degree murder.
