BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) - So far this season, Jared Poche' had been average for the LSU Tigers. Last night against 2nd ranked Vanderbilt, the Lutcher native showed his class. Dominating the Commodores for seven complete innings to pick up his fourth win of the season.
Forget the fact that LSU gave him a ton of run support. Ten runs to work with to be exact. On this night, Poche' didn't need one. He struck out eight would-be Commodore batters.
As for that run support, the majority of it came in the third inning when the Tigers crossed the plate seven times to take a commanding nine-nothing lead. Now, LSU has a chance to win its second consecutive SEC series in as many weeks.
Tomorrow's game-2 gets underway at 7:30 p.m. from Alex Box Stadium
