NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

There’s no better way to bounce back from dropping a midweek bout against Southeastern than taking a series from a top 20 team. Tulane’s 3-0 win over 16th-ranked East Carolina did just that, and it’s due to a huge performance from Emerson Gibbs on the mound.

The senior out of Jesuit High School went nine innings, scattering five hits with five strikeouts.

Offensively, Hunter Williams picked up where he left off after Friday night’s walk-off home run. He delivered a two-out, two-run base hit in the fourth inning to break the game open. Stephen Alemais followed that up with his first home run of the season in the seventh inning to make it a 3-0 game.

The Green Wave go for the sweep on Sunday.
