SLU takes series at Northwestern State, but doesn't get sweep

NATCHITOCHES, LA (WVUE) - Southeastern Louisiana baseball just missed getting the sweep at Northwestern State this weekend, falling 3-2 in Sunday's matchup.

The Lions failed at multiple attempts to tie the game, stranding the potential tying run in scoring position in the sixth, eighth and ninth innings.

Starting pitcher Domenick Carlini (4-1) suffered his first loss of the 2016 campaign, tossing his second complete game of the season.

Southeastern returns to action Tuesday in Mobile, Alabama, facing South Alabama.
