NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New video surfaced on social media during the aftermath of the apparent hit-and-run that quickly escalated into a shooting that took the life of former Saints player Will Smith.
In the video posted to Facebook early Sunday morning, a witness said he heard the two arguing during the incident.
"'Get out of the car. I've got a gun.' And then he goes '(Expletive), I have one too.' And then he grabs a gun and shoots him," the witness said.

A defense attorney for the suspect, 28-year-old Cardell Hayes, says there may have been a second gun recovered from the scene. During a press conference on Sunday, NOPD Chief Michael Harrison said only one gun was recovered.
Around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, police said Hayes rear ended Smith's SUV with his Hummer, which caused Smith to crash into a Chevrolet Impala. After that, investigators said that Hayes got out of his vehicle and began arguing with Smith, and then, Hayes began shooting.
After the shooting, Hayes waited for New Orleans police to show up. When investigators arrived, they found Smith and his wife, Raquel, suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said Smith was shot in the back and torso, and his wife in the leg. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hayes appeared before a judge Sunday evening where his bond was set at $1 million.
An attorney representing Hayes after the shooting said that there may have been an accident earlier that night in which one of the parties sped off, and that Hayes followed to get information.
Police have not given a motive in this case, but the investigation continues.
