Tulane baseball falls at UL-Lafayette, 9-2

(WVUE) - Tulane's baseball entered Tuesday's contest at UL-Lafayette ranked 22nd nationally after a weekend series victory over East Carolina and having beaten the Cajuns a month earlier, but ULL sought revenge early and often en route to a 9-2 win.

The hosts scored multiple runs in four of the first five frames while holding the Wave scoreless until the fifth inning. Sophomore pitcher J.P. France took his first loss of the season and reigning AAC Player of the Week Hunter Hope was the only Green Wave batter to secure multiple hits.

David Pierce's team will look at avoid their first losing streak in over a month when they welcome conference-leading Cincinnati to town Friday for a weekend series.
